Banks offer aid of six billion VND for storm victims

Hanoi (VNA) – The banking sector has raised a total of six billion VND (264,000
USD) for aid for victims of storm Doksuri in the central region.

Doksuri, the 10th storm in the East Sea this year and
the strongest to hit Vietnam in years, caused severe damage to Ha Tinh, Quang
Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien – Hue provinces.

Ha Tinh and Quang Binh, which were most affected, will
each receive two billion VND (88,000 USD), while Nghe An, Thanh Hoa,
Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue will get 500 million VND (22,000
USD) each.

The typhoon claimed nine lives and left four
missing and 112 injured, according to reports from affected localities by 10pm
