Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia’s Narcotics Criminal
Investigation Department (NCID) has just busted a big transnational drug
trafficking ring, the agency’s director Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said at a
press conference on July 16.

In a raid in Johor state, police arrested 12 suspects aged from 21 to
58, including 4 Chinese women and four Malaysians. The raiding team seized 5 kg
of cocaine, 107.4 litres of liquid syabu (amphetamine), 5.4 kg of syabu, 1.4 kg
of ecstasy pills and 9.1 kg of ephedrine, worth an estimated 6.2 million MYR
(1.4 million USD).

The police also confiscated some weapons, including hand grenades, four
handguns along with 140 bullets, 7 cars, and 57,000 MYR in cash.
